Royal Family Themed Breaks in London

The British Royal Family are one of the UK’s most famous institutions and if you have a budding princess in the family or simply a long-standing interest in the Royals themselves, did you know that aside from Buckingham Palace, London is full of fascinating attractions connected to the British Monarchy which are well worth a visit?

Buckingham Palace
Possibly the most well known, as the home of the Queen. During the summer you can take a tour around the State Rooms and even visit the gardens.

Royal Mews
This is home to the royal collection of historic carriages and coaches as well as the collection of cars used for state occasions. Here you can also find the Gold State Coach which was used as part of the Golden Jubilee in 2002.

Tower of London
The infamous Tower is a great place to visit if you like a bit of history thrown in with your modern-day monarchy. Learn about the mystery of the Princes in the Tower or simply follow in the footsteps of the many prisoners who met their end down on the green.

Kensington Palace
Now the London home of Prince William, Kate and, of course, Prince George, you can visit the State Apartments and view some of the amazing art from the Royal Collection. You can also now see dresses from the collections of Her Majesty The Queen, Diana, Princess of Wales and Princess Margaret in a new exhibition.

Hampton Court Palace
The famous residence of King Henry VIII and all of his six wives! Take in the 500 years of history or wander around the impressive gardens with the fantastic maze.

If you want to make your royal break that bit more special, why not extend the trip and stay overnight. You could book a hotel in Kensington if you want one which fits with the theme of your trip and it would mean you were only a short walk away from Kensington Palace.
